Finding The Woman I Am Now - Tamela Martin Boudoir
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I'm Kathryn! I live in Huntington, WV and I'm married to my college sweetheart. We are blessed with a sassy and sweet 2-year-old girl who keeps our hands and hearts very full. I work full-time for an employment agency, where I match people looking for careers with local businesses. I love listening to live music and play the piano for fun.
Why did you choose to do a boudoir shoot?
I had admired the boudoir photos for a while before I got the courage to reach out to Tamela. Somewhere between becoming a wife and mother, I got lost somewhere. I didn't know myself anymore, I was identified as someone's spouse and someone's mother, and boudoir was a way to find the woman I am now.
What made you choose Tamela Martin Boudoir?
I don't remember how I found Tamela Martin Boudoir initially. Likely social media, but I'd followed along quietly for a while. I love her artistic style! Her work stands out above the other photographers in the area, and her work is beautiful. I wanted to feel that way.
What made you the most nervous going into the session? Did that change? How?
I was most nervous because the shoot wasn't like anything I had ever done. Tamela and her team got me all dolled up and I honestly hadn't felt that beautiful for a long time. Tamela walks you through the process in a way that not only eases your nerves, but she shows you what you look like. By being able to see what she was capturing, my nerves disappeared and I became more confident as the shot went on.
What was the biggest thing holding you back from booking sooner?
The biggest thing holding me back was my confidence and there were things I knew I disliked about myself. I was afraid of being vulnerable in front of the camera and what if I didn't like the end result?
What was your favorite part of your photoshoot?
My favorite part of the photoshoot was feeling beautiful in my skin. I really needed the experience!
What is your favorite part of the whole experience?
The reveal was my favorite part of the whole experience. I loved seeing all of the photos and had such a hard time narrowing down my favorites!
What would you tell someone thinking about having a boudoir session of their own?
Book it! Take the photos. Display them in your house. Be proud of the woman you are. Every single stretch mark and curve. Tamela will walk you through the entire process and you will come out the other side feeling amazing about yourself. It is so worth it.
I had a fantastic experience and should have done this for me a lot sooner!
Thank you!
Kathryn
